Lucky Lucky Me!

Al and I are celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary on February 11th. We were planning on going to Hawaii on our 10th, but our little Ms. Aly was born a month before which kinda put everything on the back burner. Since then life has just gotten in the way and Hawaii might be a 15th wedding anniversary trip now, if we are lucky. So, to celebrate the last two anniversaries and this one ahead Al has planned a weekend away for the two of us. He was doing a really good job of keeping it a secret and normally I have no problem with secrets. I love a good surprise, but for some reason this one was bugging me and I made him tell me. Soooo…. this is where we are going this weekend!

This is the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I guess when we arrive we are both having pedicures and they will be serving us ice cream sundaes. OMG my hubby loves me!!! This is not all, he has the whole weekend planned for rest & relaxation! I can’t wait!!! I will give a full review after we return, that is if I am not a complete blob of jello 🙂 Wow, I would so love to be a blob of jello!

Hoping to get some cards or something creative done with paper today. If I do I will be back later to post.

Our Family Valentine

smerkval08.jpg

Since I didn’t get out Christmas cards this past year I decided I would send out Valentines for our family & friends who we haven’t seen in a while. Thank goodness I still had some Cool Caribbean card stock left, because it matches what the boys and I are wearing in the photo. Al and Aly are wearing navy, but I couldn’t find any cardstock that matched without looking washed out. I really like Cool C, wish it would have stuck around a little longer! Darn you Stampin’ UP! for being so “IN” with your colors! I would have loved to put a bit of embellishments on this, but it has to go through the mail and I am sure it would have been eaten by one of those card hating machines. I used Tombow removable adheasive on the back of the wallets sized photo, so that it can removed easily and put right into someones wallet or frame. Hopefully it won’t come off too easy and fall off in the envelope…yikes! I stamped the envelope with hearts using Cool C and Real Red to match.

Gotta get these in the mail. Have a super day!! HOPEFULLY I will be able to post again tomorrow 🙂

Bee Mine

Here is the card I made for the challenge. Check out the Artistic Avenger to see what Carrie created. The rules were pretty simple, must have a heart and the colors Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Bashful Blue.  The layout on my card is similar to one I just did for a small swap put together by Cindy Stoll. I can’t wait to get those swaps back so I can show you.

Well Carrie, thanks once again for the challenge. I had fun and I hope you did too!

Have a great weekend!!

A Valentine Flower and Card for you

valentine-flower-pot-and-card.jpg

I finished these up and had to get a picture out. The card is cased from a sister demonstrator, Debbie Gardunio. She made a card with the same colors and layout, I just changed the stamps. The flower pot was inspired by something I recieved at the SU Convention last summer. I used all punches to make this except for the heart of course.

These are the other two projects we will be making this Saturday at my stamp camp. I am still not sure about the card I made on my last post so that might actually change…not sure yet. If I do make something else I will post that here on Saturday.

Well gotta run! Have a great weekend!!

For a man or made for a woman?

Do you think this card is too flowery for a man? I always have a hard time making cards for guys. This will be one of the cards for my class this Saturday. I am going to bring a bunch of other sayings in case someone doesn’t want a Valentine card. This could really be a card for anything, which is nice. I will post the other two projects I am working on this weekend. Another Valentine card and a little Valentine treat made using punches!

Have a fantastic rest of your week. Thanks for stopping by!

Treats For My Aly’s 3rd Birthday.

 aly3rdbday.jpg

Aly’s 3rd birthday was on the 6th and we had a little party here at home for her. Al helped me decorate Aly’s cake, which was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Aly is a very lucky little girl to have such a great Daddy! Of course the cake had to be Cinderella, because Aly is a Princess and is all about the Disney Princesses.

At daycare they had a small celebration for Aly with mini cupcakes and presents. These are the treats that I made for each of the kids. They are just little packets of M&Ms cover with a strip of 8 1/2″ x 3″ natural card stock. I rounded the corners and stapled it at the top making sure to go through the candy wrapper. Pretty simple. I through them together in like 20 minutes. My plan was to make these all pink and girle, but my boys said that wasn’t fair since there were two boys at daycare as well as themselfs and they couldn’t take a treat that was all pink and frilly. Boys! So this is why they are red and not pink in case you were wondering. These would make a great Valentine treat for class parties or co workers.

We are going to get family pictures taken today, so I need to run and figure out what the heck we are going to wear…oh the joy! Have a great weekend!!

Here we go…a stamp camp anyone??

dsc_0004.jpg

OK, so my new goal is to post on Wednesdays and on the weekends. That is when I am around home and have a little more time to play and get on the computer.

This is my stamp camp card for tomorrow night. I used the “Just B” set on this card and a ton of punches! I am part of the Mile High Stampers in Littleton Colorado and every month we have a 12 cards for $25 stamp camp. Hope everyone will like it. It does look better in person then this picture.  Do you think it is missing anything?? If you are in the Denver metro area and interested in joining us send me an email/comment and I will get you directions!

Have a great rest of the week!
