Nothing New today…sorry

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Don’t have anything new today. The boys had a friend sleep over last night so, I just sat back and looked over my new SU catty. OH MY! I love it!! While they did get rid of a lot of my favorites, they surely made up for it with fun new items. The stamps are fantastic and I love them all! They are really putting an emphasis on Scrapbooking stamps which is great! Maybe that will help push me over the edge. Not much of a scrapbooker here.

Have a relaxing weekend!

Oh So Happy

 mikejodycrds.jpg

I posted earlier in the year that my cousin, Jody (who is more like my sister) is getting married on 07-07-07 in Vegas. This is her second marriage and really, it should have been the guy she married in the first place. So happy for her that she has finally met her Mr. Wonderful! They are having a reception back home on the 21st, which I would so love to go to.  Jody asked me to make place cards for the head table and this is what I came up with. The bride and groom is a little different then the rest of the group at the table, what do you think? I used Baroque Motifs in both Elegant Eggplant and Pale Plum. First stamping the Pale Plum then embossing then the Elegant Eggplant then embossing on shimmery white cardstock. The rest of the  table  cards are just stamped with Pale Plum then embossed.  What do you like better? Do you think  having the bride and groom different is ok?? I am getting tired of my pictures being so blah. I really need to just stop being lazy and take out my photo box with the lights and use that. Yes, can you say lazy!!  :)

Here’s another Three For You Punch Box card. I am excited to go try something else out. I woke up this morning and had an idea just pop out of nowhere, I love when that happens!! So, I will have to play some more today when I have time and see if my idea will actually look ok on paper. This card  I made with some of my favorite summer colors this year; Pink, Orange and Yellow. I am going to hurry and post this, cause we seem to be having internet problems today.

So, here is the recipe:

Stamps: Three for you Punch box set

Ink: Pink Passion, Wild Wasabi, Only Orange, So Saffron, Certainly Celery

Cardstock: So Saffron, Whisper White

Accessories: Celery Grosgrain

3 4 U

34uscrapcard.jpg

Mr. Brown came yesterday and I got a chance last night to play with the new tin set “Three For You”. It will be in the new Stampin’ UP! Fall/ Winter catty that comes out July 1st! I didn’t get this set right away when I ordered my preview stuff, but when I started seeing what people had done with it on Splitcoast I had t have it. What I really like about this set is that you can make your own little Prima flowers with the punch. Love it love it!! Plus I am sure I will use the stamp set a lot more then I did with the first tin set that came out with all the tags.

I wasn’t exactly sure what kind of layout I wanted when I started playing so, I have a whole bunch of pieces with flowers all over them. This card is actually scraps from a bunch of “play cards” all put together. Next time the flowers at the top will be punched out straighter, but it wasn’t intended to be a border in the first place. Happy Mistake!! :)

Hope you have a super day!! Feeling a little better today, thanks for the wishes!

Here’s the recipe:

Stamps: Three For You set

Ink: So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Pixie Pink

Cardstock: So Saffron, Whisper White, Soft Sky

Accessories: Three For You Flower Punch, Spring Moss Grosgrain, Glue dot (perfect fit for the back of these little flowers)

All products used are from Stampin’ UP!

One of those days

marlenebday.jpg

Just one of those days…. feel like I am in a hole and I can’t get out.  Just a bad day I guess. I tried to come up with  a new card, becasue I have several birthdays coming up in July and I am just brain dead. So I cased my own design and went a little shabby on it. Not sure if I like it though. Guess it just isn’t the day for creating, but a day for a big honkin’ piece of chocolate cake.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Pick A Petal, Curvy Verses

Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Summer Sun, Blender Pen (for stem)

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Marigold Morning

Accessories: Black Gingham ribbon

All products used are by Stampin’ UP!

Just a little tin

flwrtin.jpg

Found some tins like this at Target on clearance, so I couldn’t pass them up. The top piece comes out so you can put a photo in it or of course something stamped. There is a magnet on the back of the tin so you can hang it up. I made some of these for the boys teachers and filled them with chocolates. Always on the look out for fun things to alter!

It was a busy weekend. The “One Sheet” class I did on Saturday at Scrapbook Destination was a hit! I was busy the entire day!  Today I am trying to catch up on laundry and other household details. Working again tonight, so gotta run to catch up…sounds silly huh. Feel like I am always running to catch up, no wonder why I am tired! :)

Hope you all had a super weekend!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Pick A Petal, Vases In Vogue
Ink: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink

Ribbon: SU Grosgrain

All products used, unless noted otherwise are from Stampin’ UP!

Playing with Petals

pickathanku.jpg

I am starting to make swaps for the SU convention in July and this is one that I will make a few of to share. Hopefully everyone will like it, even though there aren’t a ton of layers or any accessories on this one.

Not sure if I will get another post in before Sunday. I am working tomorrow and then I am teaching the “One Sheet” class on Saturday at Scrapbook Destination for most of the day. We will see what happens though maybe I will surprise you.

Have a super weekend! Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Pick a Petal, Wonderful Words

Ink: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Gable Green

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black

All products are by Stampin’ UP!

In the mood for some fireworks?

usaracoon.jpg

I made this card last week for my stamp camp. I know I know the 4th of July is still a couple of weeks away, but this cute little raccoon is retiring as well as the little firecracker he is holding. So I needed to get one more card out of them before SU says “C-Ya”. It doesn’t seem like the 4th is right around the corner, I am STILL suffering from allergies and normally I would have been done by June. The cottonwood trees are killing me!! Anyone else having this problem?? I guess the issue here in CO is that we had a lot of moisture this spring and that in turn produced way more pollen??? That is what I have heard anyway… and it must be true because I think I am keeping Kleenex in business. Alright, enough of my snotty updates… Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Hip Hip Hooray, All Year Cheer 2, Bid Deal Alphahbet, Weathered BG, All in a Row

Ink: Choc Chip, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, YoYo yellow, Sahara Sand.

Cardstock: Natural White, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Bashful Blue

Accessories: Silver, Copper, & Gold Cord, Foam tape, Ice Stickles, Tag Punch, Large Corner Rounder punch

All products are from Stampin’ UP! except Stickles
Have a super day!!

What to do with a sheet of paper…

onesheetpurse.jpgorigamiwallet.jpgfancypantsbox1.jpg

If you live in the Denver Metro area, come join me as I make these three projects at Scrapbook Destination this Saturday, June 23rd. The first project is a fun little purse that you can fit a small gift or candy in. Or you could put the second project in the purse, which is a gift card wallet. The third project is a goodie /gift or candy holder. Each of these projects uses just one sheet of 12 x 12 double sided scrapbook paper. Check out Scrapbook Destination’s website to find out all you need to know about making one, two or all three of these projects!
